After another period of quiet time – albeit a relatively brief one – I decided to share some news in regards to current and upcoming projects of mine. I’ve been experiencing quite the creativity spike lately, and I felt like letting you know what it entails.
First of all, a new The Santtu Pesonen Project album is slowly beginning to take shape. I’ve pretty much decided on the musical direction I want to take with it, and I actually finished writing its first song last week. How many tracks the album will eventually include, I obviously can’t say for sure at the moment. Rest assured, though, that it’ll happen, and I intend to explore some sonic territories that are as of yet uncharted for The SP Project. In fact, chances are I’ll begin production for the album before the year is out.
Second, after releasing MFG38’s Doom Weapon Mini-Mod, I almost immediately began working on my second gameplay mod for Doom. Where the mini-mod served as an exercise in familiarizing myself with ZScript while only making small tweaks, the new mod will have more complex features, among them an “achievement” system. It goes by the name Satanic Gameshow Deluxe, and it’s being worked on at a fairly steady pace.
Finally, I started feeling the game making itch again recently. I signed up for a couple of game jams over on itch.io: LOWREZJAM 2019 and Metroidvania Month 5. Personally, the jams mainly serve as excuses to make a new game or two while familiarizing myself more deeply with Clickteam Fusion 2.5. At any rate, let’s hope I don’t drop out of either of them.
That’s all for today. Stay tuned!
